Wouldn't it be great if you could export and import component-based designs in Tangram Pro™? It turns out, you can! This feature allows users to export a model design from one Tangram Pro™ deployment, say our try.tangramflex.io, and import into another environment. To cross the treacherous gap between Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and software implementation tool, interoperability is critical. Tangram Pro's export/import feature helps make that happen!
You'll learn how to:
- Export and import a component-based system design
Step 1: Open a Workspace for an existing Component Based System Design
If you do not have an existing project design, see the Visualize a Project Design tutorial to create one.
- Go to Projects and open a project
- Click Settings on the upper right side, and then click Export AADL. The design will be downloaded in a zip file.
When you unzip, you will see the associated .aadl files. These files can be viewed in notepad or IDEs of your choice. The .aadl files can then be imported into other instances of Tangram Pro™ or other systems that can receive edit or transform .aadl files.
Step 2: Import a Design
- Go to Projects and click New Project
- Click Import Project from AADL
- Click Select Zip Files and select the .zip file you wish to import
A new project is created with all the components included in the imported AADL model.
By completing this tutorial, you've learned to export and import a component-based system design in Tangram Pro™!
